Summer Indulgence with Aqualabel, Tsubaki and Senka

Sunday, June 22, 2014

Summer solstice just happened yesterday, but because we're not a country with four seasons of happiness (wow, bad pun), the longest day of the year is not really that noticeable to us. Well in this island where it's perpetually summer, we still got to hold an occasion where we can indulge in this season, hosted by Aqualabel, Tsubaki and Senka! Along with games, food and catching up with like minded bloggers, we were introduced to their newly launched products.

If you're heading over to the beach anytime soon, you'll be needing these essentials!

 Tsubaki
 Senka
 Aqualabel
The event was held at Coastes at Sentosa which is really a relaxing setting!
I never thought of my scalp, to be honest. But yes, it does need a lot of moisture now that my hair's been kinda fried.

I didn't manage to take a lot of photos during the event itself because the place had a dim and cozy ambience. Not complaining though, cause I got hold of their newest products to bring home and try!
Left to right: Tsubaki Head Spa, Aqualabel Whitening Jelly Essence, Senka Mineral Essence UV
Tsubaki
Head Spa

"In order for hair to grow beautifully, the scalp must be treated similarly as the facial skin to prevent dryness. Insufficient moisture lowers he skin barriers, allowing the skin to dry up. Skin dryness increases the chances of inflammation, which causes newly grown hair to lack firmness and elasticity. It is therefore important to promote scalp health for the growth of firm and supple hair."

Ingredients:
Natural Essential Oil Blend, including Sage, Ginger, Rosehip, Thyme and Sorbitol
Camelia Flower Extract
Camelia Oil

Review:

One remarkable thing about this is that it feels super shiok to apply on your head! Do you remember those candies that are like fireworks in your mouth with all those crackling/popping sensation? It's almost the same as this product! There was a head spa booth at the event itself and using this, we were given head massages, and it felt so good! It also has a very relaxing and pleasant smell so it really feels as if you're having professional head spa done at your own home. Just add music though.

Directions:

1. Shake bottle horizontally for 4 to 5 minutes.
2. Position the nozzle upright about 2cm away from the cleansed scalp.
3. Spray over 8 to 10 spots onto your scalp in a single session, holding about 1 sec per spray.
4. Gently press onto the spots with your palms until the sparkling/popping sound disappears.
5. Massage your scalp lightly and relax with the aromatic scent.

Aqualabel
Whitening Jelly Essence

"High permeating Jelly holding plenty of moisture and skin beautifying ingredients such as m-tranexamic acid, double hylauronic acid, glycylglycine G, etc. After use, it firms skin affected by annoying dilated pores and keeps moisture for many hours with the skin protected by the veil of the jelly. It also has an astringent effect that reduces oil production yet still able to maintain moisture in the skin."

Review
I was already pretty much interested upon seeing it at the eveny itself, it looked super clean and fresh to me. I became hesistant to try it when i read "moisturizing" again, but like other aqualabel products, it's actually safe to use for oily skin! I've been using it since I received it and it did even reduce my skin's oiliness during the day which is something most moisturizerd don't do. So yes I do recommend this to people who have the same oily skin as me yet sensitive to moisturizers. As for the whitening though, I'm not really sure if it has made my skin fairer. My dark marks are still there and overall I feel it's still the same level of fairness as before. Other than that I really enjoy using this jelly.:)

Eclectic

Saturday, June 7, 2014

Recently, I have been happilly attending quite a number of events. Here's something that I wore to the Karl Lagerfeld fragrance launch which i'll be writing about after this outfit post!

You know how our decisions are always subconsciously influenced by keywords that has gotten stuck in our head for a while? Like for example the day before this I was thinking Karl Lagerfeld so what was in my mind was a black outfit. It turned out quite differently though when I added a dash of capriciousness and included this statement neckpiece along with it. Discontented, I included the sunnies I got from h&m in order to justify the pink and black together.

I felt a bit uncomfortable in the beginning because it's quite a bit different from the looks i usually go for.

And I feel naked without my fringe.

Last two shots taken by the uber gorgeous Gwen! I got some tips from her on how to pose naturally too lol I really am very awkward when it comes to standing in front of the camera. It takes a lot of shots before I get one that I really like, which can be very frustrating for those who help me take 'em! But I quite like this set of photos!

Also kinda grew into the ensemble itself in the end, found it uncommon as compared to the black-white/black-gold/black-black that I usually gravitate towards to.

Neckpiece: Shoppy Poppy

Hope you guys are having a fun weekend, see you again on my next post!:)

Mont Blanc Legend Intense (Launch + Review)

Wednesday, June 4, 2014

A week back, I was privileged to attend the launch of Mont Blanc's new fragrance for men, Legend Intense, which is a new version of their best selling Legend parfum.

"Faithful to the contemporary elegance of Montblanc, Legend Intense maintains the timeless and sophisticated signature of the original fragrance, Legend, worked in a version made of strength and contrast for a warmer and more intense, sensual scent."
Mont Blanc Fragrances: (left to right) Starwallker, legend Intense and Legend.
Parfumer, Olivier Pescheux, asserts the sharp top, teasing the primitive fern harmony with a duo of cardamom and Pepperwood® scents. Exuding vivacity at its heart is an amalgamation of clear jasmine, white cedarwood, Pomarose ® and crisp red apple.
Fresh, woody and willowy, this vibrant personality is ensriched with unusual woods, warm but dry, ardent but precise, reflecting mysterious virility and sensuality. Wrapped in Evernyl (molecule derived from oak moss), the talismanic raw material of Montblanc Legend, and the olfactory power of tonka bean, this supplement of soul adds a powerful yet subtle breath to the creation.
Gwen and I after the perfume introduction (yes, those were the ootds we posted before!)
Yes, I know. I need to do something about my roots! It's annoying the hell out of me too.

Enjoyed ourselves chitchatting with the other girls during the event and the refreshments were so nice and pretty! Took quite a number of shots as seen below:

Yes, even the tissue holder caught my attention. LOL I think I took more pics of the food than the perfumes themselves >.<

Review

Upon receiving the bottle, I immediately found the gunmetal finish very masculine and sleek. It really does exude a sophisticated and manly aura, which is definitely reflected in the scent itself. To be honest though, I still prefer its predecessor, in that it is lighter and more similar to what my boyfriend usually wears, whereas Intense is a bit sweeter and yes, stronger than the previous. That's not too say that Intense is less wonderful, it's all just a matter of preference, and Legend Intense is definitely for classy men who prefer warmer and sexier fragrances.

Monochrome

Sunday, May 25, 2014

Hola! The month of May flew by so fast I didn't notice that I haven't posted here for a while! Things are okay though, it's weird how my schedule is always full yet fortunately I don't feel as pressured as before *knock on wood*.

Neckpiece: Lovisa

Clutch Bag: Emoda

Top, Skirt and Shoes: Random online shops

Photos were taken by the lovely Gwen (You can check out her OOTD that day too, she looked so Jun Ji-Hyun in those photos!) when we attended the Mont Blanc launch, details about that to be posted soon as well.

I've always loved Black and monochrome outfits but since I turned blonde I felt that it didn't suit me as much as when I had black hair. But paired with red/dark lipstick, turns out that it's not so bad (I think)!

Summer Colours

Sunday, May 11, 2014

My preference for a sunny day to a rainy one yet my perpetual fear of being exposed to the sun shows how much of a conflicting personality I have. And though I love the beach and just relaxing by lying on the sand, it is difficult to convince me to swim under the scorching heat of the sun's rays. Which is why summer is a love-hate relationship with me; I love it for its brightness and cheerfulness and being a reason for vacations, yet I totally abhor the sticky, humid, merciless heat that comes with it. Nevertheless, I've no regrets in living in a tropical paradise.:) (though of course, snow is another matter...)

I love the afternoon sun the most; I'd choose sunset over sunrise. Watching the sun give way quietly to the moon is about one of the most serene sceneries I've ever experienced.

Top & Shorts: Blogshopping (Jem)

Sandals & Sunnies: Stradivarius

Neckpiece: Lovisa

I know the words Love Sick seem unrelated but it caught my attention; there's just something about summer, colours and being so unreasonably in love that gives off that very young and carefree vibe.

And also, this post is to introduce Tofi, my Angora! Tofi was originally spelled as Toffee--because of her color, but now I think Tofi reads more uniquely when written. Heh. She's been with me for a year now yet I've taken very few pictures of her. My reasons are inexcusable: I've been busy, I've been busy, and I've been busy :( But since I was quite free a fortnight ago we decided to take her out for grooming then let her run about outdoors for the first time!

Doesn't she look so adorable?! (That's not my hand btw!:p)

We didn't expect though, that she'd be so scared being outdoors! She just stationed herself near our feet the whole time.and when it was time to go home, she even jumped into her carrier herself without being told!

Tofi when she was a baby :)

Anyway, I hope you all are having a wonderful summer (in this part of the world, at least) and are enjoying lots of sun, sea, sand and love! As for me I'm still vacationless at this moment T.T but I am okay with it, looking forward to travelling again, oh how I miss it! But I guess not this year yet :(

Weirdo

Tuesday, April 29, 2014

I'm a self confessed weirdo, and more than once all my friends have told me this in one way or another. Can't help it, I just tell myself it's another form of "special". Lol

*See them knitted brows* Didn't manage to get nice full shots that day because we (boyfriend and I) went to the embassy then and by the time we were through we were just so tired and with the merciless sun making us all sweaty, no one was really in the mood to take photos (except me maybe). But I love this outfit so I'm posting it anyway.^^

Top: Pull and Bear
Skirt and Shoes: Online

Have I told you guys my favorite color is yellow? I love how the sudden shock of bright shoes makes the whole look appear cheery and youthful.

Anyway, recently I've been in a depressed state and lost confidence in myself again, thus the lack of updates. I just want to hide and hibernate and shut myself off from the whole world, but I know I'm truly not that person! We always have choices and the world won't wait for us to decide. So I decided to just keep going
and that I should never give up! And so must you! がんばりましょう!!
